The Machine Mark
⊙ built strictly from the canonical atoms: the pairs v0.10 ring, a solid core at its center. The only open parameter is the weight of the core. Three candidates: fine keeps the typographic U+2299 feel, balanced sits at half the inner radius, heavy makes the Base read as cargo the shell protects.

Solo Conduct
What each bot wears alone, at avatar size. A point is scale-free: alone, Index. is the core at full magnification, a solid disk on the ring's exact footprint. Side by side the pair reads filled against open: the Base holds, the Cortex breathes. Apart they are two circles of equal rank; only together do they become the machine.

The Steps
⊙ is generative, which is what "most fundamental" should mean. Keep the shell: the ring. Keep the core: the dot. And ⊙ is how physics draws an axis pointing straight at the viewer; turn the machine ninety degrees and that same axis lies down as the bar. All three atoms of the system are ⊙ seen from some angle, so every mark in the fleet derives from it. That is the argument for ⊙ as the master mark of Index itself, above any single bot.

The Wordmark
The Base bot's name ends in its own glyph. Set in the system mono, the full stop of "Index." IS the mark: as the plain core dot, or as a miniature ⊙. And IndexRoot can wear the machine inside its own name, the circled dot standing in for an o. Typography and symbol collapse into one thing, which no digit bot can do.
